What a fab weekend we’ve had! My folks came down for a couple of nights, and it was great for them to spend time with the girls. We took a trip on the Worth Valley steam railway on Saturday, which Amelia just adored. On Sunday we had a ‘bit of a do’ for Jocelyn’s 1st birthday, it was great weather so everyone spilled out into the garden for a barbecue. The Pimms flowed freely and it was lots of fun.
Didn’t get a bit of work done all weekend though.
I’ve entered this year’s Race for Life in memory of my sister who died last year. I’ve had lots of sponsorship so far and I’m getting really excited about it. Even though I’m not planning on running all the way (I will have an 11 month old on my back, I think that’s a decent excuse!) I think I ought to do at least a little bit of training. Lots of extra walks for the dog methinks!
I set up this blog full of good intentions to keep it up to date, then swiftly forget all about it!
Must try harder!
Hurray! I Want My Mum is back up and running after far too long away. While the site was down I took a guilty foray into a few other forums, but none of them were the same. It’s a bit quiet for now but I’m sure the lovely community of IWMMers haven’t drifted off too far, and that we’ll be back in full flow before too long. It’s made me realise just how much support I gain from these online friends. Women (and a select few men) who don’t REALLY know me, yet who understand, advise, and just generally prop me up whenever I need it. Hurray for you all!
I’m running a massive clearance sale on cloth nappies at baby-bean.com, and I’m nearly out of stock. This is great, as it means I can actually get into my office, but also makes me feel quite sad. Cloth nappies were the first product I sold, and is what Baby Bean was all about at first, so the decision to stop stocking them was very hard. Holding stock of all the size/fabric/colour/fastening combinations was becoming really difficult, and supply issues meant that sometimes customers were left waiting weeks rather than days for their orders. Tots Bots are really pushing their business forward and doing a great job of increasing awareness of cloth nappies, but they are no longer able to service small retailers like me in the way I needed. So many sites have launched selling nappies since I started, that in business terms it’s a no-brainer to move on and focus on slings and other less saturated markets. But seeing my nappy shelves getting emptier and emptier still seems a shame.
I’m building a gallery on baby-bean.com to show off both my girls and illustrate some of the products in action. It’s been a good excuse to go though all my photos, and has made me realise just how many digital images I have and how very badly organised they are. Must sort them out, and do something about backing them up. My To Do list is getting out of control!
I swear I had it just the other day, but now I can’t seem to find it anywhere. Having kids zaps your brain power, it’s the lack of sleep that does it.
OOOH I’ve got a blog! Better go and learn how to use it.
